    Recorded and mixed just months before Geoff's sad and sudden death, this is the album of his extraordinary compositions and piano playing that Geoff was all set to share with the world.

    With the help of his trio and family, we can now release the album Geoff was so excited about and that perfectly reflects both his tender and virtuosic piano playing as well as his unique and evocative compositions, performed here by his acoustic piano trio.

    After a number of short runs in the support slot at Ronnie Scott's in which he presented and refined the music with the trio, Geoff was encouraged and inspired to record the result of this new group. The trio went into the studio to record this set of original compositions and songs, many of which are recorded here for the first time. Geoff had a clear vision for the finished record, complete with the wonderful voice of Marta Capponi. Bassist Mark Rose recalls:

    "Geoff would come over to the mixing sessions and we'd work together on getting the sound just right. The pieces are so wonderfully varied, spanning most of his career and Geoff knew exactly what he wanted. The opening track was always going to be the extraordinary Manhattan Dawn. I think it sets the scene for an album of hidden depths and harmonic richness. Geoff was so well-known for the swinging and blistering piano playing he was so adept at but his more reflective pieces presented a depth and complexity that audiences may have seen less of.

    It's all here on one record and we are all very proud to be a part of it and to have known this wonderful man, so thoughtful, giving and generous both on and away from the piano".
